Paid advertising such as Google Adwords, Facebook Marketing and sponsored listings on sites such as Yell can work well for many companies. If you want quick, instant results then paid for marketing is probably the way to go. Paid for marketing can be expensive especially if you are in a competitive industry or are targeting generic phrases.
When setting up paid for advertising you need to think about which keywords will not just get you the most traffic to the site but which are most likely to convert. If for example, you sell children’s shoes but not adults then you need to be specific and not just target keywords including the word shoes but ensuring that you target kid’s shoes or children’s shoes. This may mean you get less traffic to the website but should mean the people that are visiting are more likely to be interested in the products you sell.
You need to also think about the geographical reach of your ads. If you are a business that only offers products and services within a local area then makes sure your ads are set to only show to those areas and not the whole of the UK.
