Thomson has launched the MyThomson iOS app, a ‘one stop shop’ for holidaymakers who’re off on a visit this summer.
The app includes flight information like check-in times and luggage allowances, maps to the airport, destination guides, weather updates and social sharing fuctions. TUI Travel, which owns Thompson inclusive of 240 other brands across Europe, says this can be a blueprint to be rolled out for the remainder of its portfolio.
The company said Android is at the way.
Athough digital is a key channel for the corporate, a number of Thomson’s 700 high street shops also are being revamped as portion of TUI’s commitment to using technology to draw customers in-store.
The shops will, amongst other things, have free wi-fi for patrons, an enormous video wall and interactive maps and tables to assist tourists research. Free coffee can be on offer. Its first ‘next generation’ shop will go live in the summertime – with the location yet to be confirmed. yet another 10 might be reimagined by Christmas. The emphasis could be on service in a trendy environment.
