The puntastic national female plumbers’ organisation, Stopcocks, has signed a partnership with SumUp to enable its members to just accept mobile card paments from their customers.
SumUp offers its customers a free card reader that works with an iOS or Android app. It have been on offer within the UK, Germany, Ireland and Austria since August last year. It also became available within the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Belgium on the end of 2012.
The company usually has a 2.75 per cent transaction fee but each of the profits comprised of Stopcocks until 1 October 2013 can be donated to the Clean Water Kithoka project in Kenya. Stopcocks can be holding a fundraiser for the project on the Safari Club in Finchley on 29 June 2013. Click here for additional information.
Hattie Hasan, CEO of Stopcocks Women Plumbers, said: “The trade is awfully much outdated relating to female plumbers, so for us to make a great and lasting impression we need to ensure we provide excellent customer support – this includes providing payment solutions which might be most convenient for our customers.
“We’re a small business and want flexibility, so traditional card terminals can’t give us what we want. In terms of customers purchasing our members’ services and trainees buying our plumbing trainee scheme, they can be expected to part with quite a lot of money, so security, transparency and ease are of significant importance.”
