Nintendo is reportedly opening up its Wii U console to apps ported from mobile devices .
According to The Japan Times, the corporate has begun offering conversion software to app developers that permits them to directly transfer existing apps over to its games console, which uses a touchscreen controller which closely resembles a tablet device.
It’s portion of an effort to bring the corporate back to profitability, after poor sales of the Wii U caused Nintendo reporting an operating lack of ¥36.4bn (£237m) for 2012.
