The Mobile Retail Summit kicks off at 9am tomorrow morning on the Grange, St. Paul’s, London, with a presentation from Matthew Hopkinson from the Local Data Company, who will present delegates with a tough-hitting picture of the actuality of life at the High Street at present, with store closures and falling occupancy rates.
At 9.50, through the ‘On Device’ session, Sean McKee, head of eCommerce at show retailer, Schuh, will take delegates in the course of the company’s mobile journey, outlining the percentage of visits and revenues coming from desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
At 2.35, in the course of the ‘In-store’ session, Pizza Express marketing director, Emma Woods, will explains how the restaurant chain has used free in-store wi-fi to extend engagement with its customers, and make the dining experience easier for them.
In a similar session, at 15.05, Sienne Veit, head of mobile at Morrisons, will deliver a presentation entitled: ‘Rethinking Stores within the Age of Mobile’, wherein she is going to outline how Morrisons and parent company Kiddicare are harnessing the ability of mobile to help the shopping experience within the company’s bricks & mortar stores.
In the overall session of the day, ‘The Future’, at 17.05, Martin Gill, principal analyst at Forrester Research, will take a look at the way forward for mCommerce, exploring the concept that of the always-addressable customer, and at mobile’s ability to bridge the physical/digital divide.
There are three panel debates through the process the development. Within the morning, throughout the ‘Driving Footfall’ session, at 12.35, Tim Green will moderate a panel debate entitled: ‘Push and Pull. What techniques work best in using mobile devices to drive retail traffic’
The panellists are Matthew Hopkinson from the Local Data Company, Sean McKee from Schuh, and Stephen Jenkins, marketing director, EMEA, at Millennial Media.
In the ‘In-store’session, at 15.25, Helen Keegan will moderate a panel debate entitled: ‘What’s a store for anyway How do retailers should rethink their bricks & mortar stores within the face of fixing consumer behaviour’. The panellists in this debate are Emma Woods from Pizza Express, and Sienne Veit from Morrisons.
The final panel debate of the day closes the conference. This one is moderated by Lauranec Adermi from Moni Technologies, and is titled: ‘Stop the realm… Where is the mCommerce revolution heading, and the way can retailers survive it and play an active and successful part in it’.
The panellists are Rick Williams, CTO at glue Isobar, Martin Gill from Forrester, Adrienne Gauldie, country manager, UK, at Trademob, and Roger Wade, director of Boxpark.
After the conference, the Mobile Retail Awards Ceremony occurs within the Sky Bar on the Grange, starting at 6pm.
