Facebook has reported a 37.8 per cent increase on this year’s Q1 revenue, raking in $1.46b in comparison to last year’s Q1 revenue of $1.06b. Net income also increased to $219mn from last year’s Q1 income of $205mn.
Daily active users were 665mn for March, 2013, a 26 per cent year-over-year increase. As of 31 March, 2013, monthly active users were at 1.11b, a 23 per cent year-over-year increase. Mobile monthly active users in the course of the same period rang in at 751mn – a 54 per cent year-over-year increase.
Revenue from advertising was $1.25bn (85 per cent of total revenue), up 43 per cent from last year’s Q1. Mobile advertising accounted for 30 percent ($375mn) of advertising revenue.
“We’ve made a whole lot of progress inside the first few months of the year,” said Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founding father of Facebook. “We have seen strong growth and engagement across our community and launched several exciting products.”
