When starting any marketing campaign whether it be via emails, text messages or adverts it can be tempting to go like a bull at a gate and flood your contacts with all of the above, however this can be of detriment to your company and actually give you a negative reputation for your brand.
Most people don’t mind the odd advert here and the odd email there, however if people are constantly receiving correspondence from your company they may just mark it as spam and not even look at the contents of your email.
Some people also react negatively to being contacted via text message on their mobile phone as they feel that it is a violation of privacy, all of these things with link your brand with being a nuisance company and will make people very wary of your business, exactly the opposite effect a marketing campaign should have.
So the best advice is to do one stage at a time, if you send out emails advertising your company ensure that these don’t exceed more than one a month, same with text messages. Always offer customers a way to unsubscribe if they wish and remain professional and courteous with all correspondence.
