The variety of people living in four screen homes – with a TV, computer, smarthphone and tablet – has greater than doubled over the last six months, in accordance with Kantar Media’s futurePROOF study. 23 per cent of individuals within the UK now live in such homes, growing from 11 per cent since Kantar’s last study.
32 per cent of individuals how have access to a tablet, the study found, with 70 per cent of them used as shared devices. 79 per cent of folks say they let their children use their device.
Almost half tablet owners, 49 per cent, say they use it at home day after day, while just 7 per cent of individuals – brave or stupid – use their tablet while at the move.
Tablet users usually tend to have purchased products on their device – 55 per cent – over smartphone users – at 41 per cent. Smartphones are more typically used for purchasing digital content or urgent items, include music, train tickets and eBay auction items.
Tablet users also are prone to consume digital content – 26 per cent have watched on-demand TV – in comparison with only 8 per cent of smartphone owners. Skype is utilized by 16 per cent of tablet users at least one time a month compared with 10 per cent of smartphone users.
