eBay has updated its iOS apps, to version 3.0 on iPhone and a couple of.3 on iPad.
The key feature within the update is a unified Shopping Cart, previously only available on Android, which enables users to shop for items from multiple sellers with a single payment. It also enables users to maneuver between mobile and desktop to continue their purchases.
The update also brings a better user interface, with the iPad getting a customisable home screen, and the introduction of multiple search views, offering table, grid and tile views.
“The commerce revolution is underway and mobile is leading the charge. We wish to make moments of inspiration instantly shop-able, so we’re really eager about the updates to our apps for iPhone and iPad,” said Olivier Ropars, eBay Europe senior director of mCommerce. “For those brief shopping moments at the go, the Shopping Cart feature makes a tremendous difference, allowing users to purchase items from multiple sellers with a single payment. These changes, which include improvements to the general user experience, underline our commitment to our mobile platform which already enables one purchase a second inside the UK alone.”
According to eBay, its last significant mobile update, in January, which introduced crossplatform listings, helped increase first-time listings at the site by 67 per cent.
